I am really beginning to like Twitter. It's like a search engine by and for Twitter users, and I'm getting to meet and connect people who share similar interests as mine.

For instance, since I wasn't able to attend the oDesk Contractor Appreciation Day, I was able to view pictures that other attendees uploaded, as well as read about what happened during the said event.

At first I thought Twitter was about tweeting what you want and that was it. I guess I was very wrong. You can do a lot of things on Twitter and it's just up to you on how you will maximize making use of it.

On A Long Break Friday, March 23, 2012

Every Monday to Thursday starting at 2pm, my husband and I have been watching the Chief Justice Corona's impeachment proceedings. Don't get me wrong, as trolls might suddenly flood this post and comment on the guilt of the person in trial - I reserve my right to a final decision until the defense has finished presenting their evidence. I am not saying that the Chief Justice is 100% innocent, nor am I saying that he is guilty. The case here is that all people should be considered innocent until proven guilty, and it's the job of the prosecution to prove that he did the things they filed in their impeachment complaint.

Well, so far, things are looking in favor of the defense in my opinion. And since the senate is taking their Lenten Season break, the trial is suspended until May 07, 2012. Till then, I'll miss seeing all these people on TV and my 2pm routine.

I sincerely hope that the break will help the senators of this country in making the right decision. May they mull over the evidence presented by both sides and decide not because of their party affiliations, but on the evidence presented. Otherwise, our country will be in deep shit.

A Review of New Chapter Products Sunday, February 26, 2012

As I stated in an earlier post, I received complimentary New Chapter products this month and I wanted to write a review on them. Well, to start off, my entire experience with getting chosen to write the review and receiving the products was nothing short of amazing. We're in completely different time zones so I expected about 24 hours for my inquires to be responded to, but it always took just a few hours to get things clarified. Also, when they said I'll get my samples within a week, I did get them within a week, just like they said. That alone earned major points for me, but my experience did not end there.

When I received my complimentary products, everything was nicely and neatly wrapped, and I also noticed that the boxes the food supplements were in were actually made from recycled products. If a company wants to promote 'natural' products, it should take the extra effort to take care of nature - and one of the ways you can do this by using recycled products. New Chapter does exactly just that, and they are committed to  environmental integrity.

I received complimentary samples of Perfect Prenatal, Whole Mega Whole Fish Oil, and Zyflamend Whole Body. I began taking the Whole Mega Whole Fish Oil, and my husband took the Zyflamend Whole Body. I didn't want to write a review in a matter of days after taking the supplements, but we already noticed changes in our bodies and how we felt.

My husband used to work as a tour guide, which meant hours and hours of standing and walking and very little rest. Years of this kind of work took a toll on him, since he always complains about how his feet hurt. Since he also gained weight, so the extra weight must have been hard for his feet too. Within a week of taking Zyflamend Whole Body, he has noticed he feels much better.  He was also able to resume playing basketball and basically become physically active again, where he is slowly and surely losing those extra pounds.

As for me, I took the Whole Mega Whole Fish Oil. I work online from home, so I'm sitting in front of the computer for more than 10 hours every day. I know it's not the healthiest lifestyle, and I've been to my optometrist several times. The Whole Mega Whole Fish Oil contains omega fatty acids which nourish brain, heart, kidney, and eye tissues among other healthy benefits for our bodies. No, my eyesight did not improve (I"m still wearing glasses) but one of the things I did notice is that my eyes do not get tired as quickly as they did before. Hopefully, I can still keep my right eye free of any grades. :)

I have two kids, and don't plan on having a third one anytime soon, which means no one is going to take the Perfect Prenatal supplement. I do remember when I was pregnant, my doctor gave me prenatal vitamins which must be taken immediately after meals, and whenever I burped I kind of tasted the medicine. Ugh. I was surprised that the Perfect Prenatal supplement could be taken on an empty stomach, and I believe one of the reasons why is that it's a whole food multivitamin supplement, unlike those which have been synthetically processed.

All in all, sampling New Chapter products has been a very rewarding experience for me and my husband. We love the products and we love the company we're dealing with. We look forward to more positive experiences with New Chapter. :) Cheers!

Excited About New Chapter Thursday, February 16, 2012

Last week I received a package from New Chapter, and I must admit I am very impressed. First of all, the package came within a week just like they said, and the packaging is wonderful to say the least.

I love nature and recycle everything as much as I can. When I saw and opened the boxes the bottles of medicines came in, I immediately noticed that the boxes seemed to be made out of recycled paper, and confirmed it at the bottom of the box. Big points for me. :)

I received three different sample medicines (expiring in a very long time btw) but I don't think I'll be able to use the pre natal one as I'm not expecting. However, my husband and I were very happy to receive a sample of Zyflamend Whole Body as we've been suffering from back and joint pains and have been looking for something natural to help us.

So far, we've only been a week towards sampling the food supplements, and I'll be posting a more detailed account of how things went for me and my husband.

Facebook Timeline Saturday, December 17, 2011

So I updated to Facebook Timeline yesterday, and I soooo want to go back to the old one. I know eventually I will get used to this new layout, and having the layout now gives me a heads up over others as Facebook isn't rolling this out yet.

As with anything new, I can't seem to find a lot of my stuff, just like when Gmail updated to a new look. :/ Oh well, since I didn't create an app to get the Timeline, I don't think there's a way for me to revert to the old look.

Oh well, I didn't win the UnionBank Tweet to Win Promo last Christmas. :(

I would have liked to have that Sony bloggie camera, I think it's absolutely cute. I know, I have a camera in my iPod, a digital camera, and a camera in my Nokia 5800, but this one seems super convenient in terms of uploading what you've captured on it. Since it has a USB connector in it, all you have to do is to plug it into the USB slot of your computer. You can also directly upload to YouTube and other popular sites.

I guess if time and finances permit, I should try to scout this camera out. Or, I can just save up for a DSLR. Or better yet, I should just use the gadgets I already have. :P

A lot of my relatives have been coming home from different parts of the world, mostly in the US. My favorite cousin from California came home, and she works as a nurse there. So while we were chatting with how her life and work is in a foreign country, she had a lot of stories to tell about her life in scrubs, as she calls it.

Since I'm not a nurse and my college degree isn't in any way related to medicine, I asked her what that meant. She explained that scrubs are actually medical nursing uniforms that they wear whenever they're at work. This kind of reminded me of being in school where everybody wore the same clothing as our uniform while in school, so I imagined this would be kind of the same for her.

But then, she explained this wasn't the case because you can purchase scrub sets of different colors, and some with different patterns as well. I guess that really helps in breaking the monotony of everybody wearing the same thing all the time.

My cousin then said she enjoys life in California, but nothing compares to being home for the holidays. :)

I am buying an iPod iTouch from ebuystore, the place where I purchased my Nokia 5800 almost 2 years ago.

First of all, it has 2 cameras, one at the front and one at the back. The one on the back supports video recording in HD - pretty cool, huh! The one on the front is mostly for video calls and is only in a VGA resolution, something I really don't mind.

I was initially thinking of buying an iPhone 4G like my mom in law has in Hawaii with AT&T for the main purpose of making video calls to her via Yahoo! Messenger. So, whenever we're at the mall and I want to show her the kids in the playground, I can do so. But I wasn't 100% ready to say goodbye to my Nokia 5800 - it's been through a lot. My kids have tossed it around, poured water over it, and it has also toppled down from the stairs and is still working absolutely fine except for the scratches on the screen. Other than that, I have no complaints so I'm hesitant in changing it.

However, since I found out that with the iPhone iTouch 4th Generation which has WiFi, I can actually install Yahoo! Messenger in it and call my mom in law for just the fraction of the cost of an iPhone 4G! Besides, Skype doesn't have the technology yet to support video calls either on my phone on a Symbian OS and on the iPhone as well, so I guess I'm holding off of it for now. I'm crossing my fingers that I'm getting my hands on this really cool gadget this Saturday! Yipee!

While on FaceBook, I came across an auction site called BidZinga and since I really did not have any intentions of bidding on items seriously and I just wanted to see and check the site out, I created an account with them. The usuals are included - your name, email address, shipping address, etc. etc. no credit card information was taken (I don't have one anyway, lol!). So after looking around at the items for auction and how cheap they were, I tried to Google for reviews and other information I could about the site. Surprisingly, there wasn't anything I could pull up that wasn't from the website itself.

Funny thing is, there's also a Testimonials tab in there, but it's currently empty. So I used the free bids I got when I created my account and bid on some products but got outbid in them. For the reason that I cannot find anyone who says they received the product they ordered from this website my question still remains - is BidZinga a scam?

A Review of Shrek Forever and After - Ugh. Tuesday, June 01, 2010

I was searching in Google about the lines Shrek said to Fiona as he was about to disappear because his 24 hours were up, then I came across a review of Shrek Forever After by Cinefantastique. Since I couldn't comment on the post, I'll just make a post myself.

Here's a part of the review I so totally disagree with:

The script for SHREK FOREVER AFTER is marred by inconsistencies: although Shrek is the one who was never born in this new reality, it is Fiona’s royal parents who wink out of existence, and Rumplestiltskin manages to claim their kingdom without fulfilling his half of the bargain (which was to save Fiona). Does it matter? Probably not – at least, not if the jokes fly fast and funny enough to make us forget the details.

First of all, Rumpelstiltskin is a con man, and he tricked Fiona's parents into signing a contract that would make "all of their problems go away" if they were to hand him the kingdom of Far Far Away. Rumpelstiltskin did exactly just that - by making Fiona's parents disappear, all of their problems disappeared as well (get it?). In the real world, they were about to sign the contract but Shrek had already saved Fiona (shown in the first part of the movie). In the alternate universe where Shrek wasn't born, naturally the contract signing between Fiona's parents and Rumpelstiltskin did push through, making them poof out of existence.

If the movie is marred by inconsistencies, where are the others? There's only one mentioned in this review. If I was the one to point out an inconsistency, I would like to ask where Artie went. He didn't make any appearances in the real world (and of course since Shrek wasn't born in the alternate world, I don't expect to see him there at all because no one would have taken him from his high school to Far Far Away), as well as Prince Charming and his mother.

Oh well, all I can say is I really liked the movie. Plus the fact that I am just expressing my opinion, and that I'll miss seeing the green big ogre on the big screen.

I was supposed to cook pork adobo today, but since I was really, really short of sleep and I wasn't in the highest of spirits when I woke up, I accidentally cooked the beef we had in the fridge instead of the pork. I only realized until later that it was beef I was actually cooking when I had the pot boiling and I was throwing away garlic cloves and the wrappers. The bag read - beef cut ups and I was like, oh no.

I've been thinking about expanding our menu since I always end up cooking the same meals, and I've been browsing the internet for dinner ideas. I didn't think my new menu would happen today, lol!

For the beef adobo I ended up making, I used half a kilo of cut beef, garlic, pepper, soy sauce and vinegar. You need to take equal parts of soy sauce and vinegar, and then some pepper. Combine this and the beef in a bowl and marinade for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then, take out the beef (but don't throw away the sauce where you marinated it) and saute it with finely chopped garlic and cooking oil. Once all sides of the beef is brown, pour over the soy sauce with vinegar combination you used to marinade the beef with and that's it! Serve it hot.

I honestly did not know beef adobo tasted really good. After I tasted the meal, I was surprised that it actually tasted great and then I decided to search the internet if this recipe was even possible, or if someone has already made it. I know chicken can also be made into adobo, and I was pleased when I found the same recipe for beef. What I thought would be a disaster ended up in a successful meal for my family.
