BidZinga - Is it a scam?

While on FaceBook, I came across an auction site called BidZinga and since I really did not have any intentions of bidding on items seriously and I just wanted to see and check the site out, I created an account with them. The usuals are included - your name, email address, shipping address, etc. etc. no credit card information was taken (I don't have one anyway, lol!). So after looking around at the items for auction and how cheap they were, I tried to Google for reviews and other information I could about the site. Surprisingly, there wasn't anything I could pull up that wasn't from the website itself.

Funny thing is, there's also a Testimonials tab in there, but it's currently empty. So I used the free bids I got when I created my account and bid on some products but got outbid in them. For the reason that I cannot find anyone who says they received the product they ordered from this website my question still remains - is BidZinga a scam?

I hope the people who left the comments here about winning something over at BidZinga do come back to let us know if they received whatever they won or not.

I am being invited to join Bidzinga as well. So far I am still in the process of knowing if this Bidzinga is a legit one or not. Please let us know if you got your items (and without any hassles). Thanks.

First off, I hope the people who leave anonymous comments actually get an account and give out their name.

Second, I'm not bidding there anymore and will most likely just leave my account as it is - inactive.

I wish everybody who says they did receive their items congratulations, and for those who didn't, I hope your payment can be refunded. :)

Hi,

Just to add to this thread: Bidzinga makes money when people purchase their bid credits. Now, let's say an iPad sells for $20. Considering it takes around 800 bids for an item to reach $20 and each bid cost $0.90, Bidzinga earns approximately $720 plus the $20 for the iPad. In a nutshell, this is their business model...

I am not saying that the site is a scam or not ( I haven't tried verifying it). However, if you make 5 bids and didn't win the auction, you lose $4.50 (not a very good deal). And what's to stop Bidzinga from having an employee raising the bid anytime to ensure that they do get a profit.

Shipping and handling may also be an issue. If you do try bidding, check if the shipping charges are reasonable (you might end up getting paying for a hefty charge on top of the selling price).

As with any online transaction, exercise caution. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks.
