The Haunting of Molly Hartley - Crap

For starters, let me just say that please do not make the same mistake as I did, which is watching this crap disguising itself as a movie.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to watch this movie with my husband and the kids. It tells the story of a girl whose 18th birthday is a few days away, and a lot of strange things are happening to her. Her own mother tries to kill her by stabbing a pair of scissors to her chest, and one of her classmates also tries to drown her in the church.

This movie unfortunately does not have any redeeming parts, as it was totally not scary, and the plot is pathetic. The lead actress, Haley Bennett, is really pretty but other than that, everything else sucks.

The cause of all the trouble is the fact that Molly Hartley was born dead, but a lady who appears out of nowhere gives her parents a choice. Molly then begins to cry and live. The condition is that once Molly turns 18, the lady who appeared will take her back. So there, just figure things out for yourself. She begins to be something like the female version of Damien in the Omen movies, starting on her 18th birthday.

2012 - OK for Me

My husband and I watched 2012 a few weeks back and like most movies I've watched, it's about the destruction of the earth. With all the pollution and other damages that we are causing the earth, humans have created an imbalance and our world is reacting to it by unexplainable weather changes and land shifts.

John Cusack has the lead role in this movie, who also happens to be a favorite actor of mine. I watched 1408 and I thought he was amazing in that movie. He tries to save his family from the disaster as he discovers "a way" (I will not disclose in case there are readers who haven't seen it yet) to be saved from the destruction. He does everything in his powers to save his family, which is made even possible by the help of a Chinese monk.

Good points of the movie include amazing effects and great actors, but for me, it is not a really awesome movie I would drool over for, like Knowing for instance. For me, it was just like a sci-fi high-tech Noah's Ark. Oh well, I guess I gave the movie away. :-)

A New Template

I've had the three column dots dark template for quite some time, and when I came across Deluxe Templates and this particular template named City Sleeps, I just had to have it in one of my blogs.

Because I've inserted a lot of HTML codes before the tag, I had to tediously copy every single one of them. I also had to copy widgets of mine on a notepad so that I wouldn't lose any of the widgets I have come to get used to and love.

I've also admittedly been slacking off on blogging, especially since I have a lot of online work on my hands right now, but these new templates I've installed make me want to blog all day! If you notice though, there are spaces between the posts, enough to fit another post in it. I left a comment on Deluxe Templates about this, and I hope they respond. I hate seeing that empty space as the OC in me is dying to fix it but I don't know how.

Goodbye Johnny Delgado

I did not know the Philippine actor Johnny Delgado had passed away last November 19 due to cancer. He has always been one of my favorite actors in the Philippine industry, particularly because he had class in acting and was really good in his craft.

It is sad when someone passes away, even if you did not personally know the said person.

I Love Queen Torrent!

I am quite new when it comes to downloading torrents, all thanks to this laptop that I'm using. It came with a torrent downloader application, and I had to spend some time figuring things out. One of the things I needed to figure out was finding a website I could download tv torrents and other torrent files as well.

It was then when I came across Queen Torrent. I just love how the site is so easy to use, it's practically foolproof! I also appreciate how the seeds are already listed along with the torrent file, so that you don't have to search for which torrents have the most seeds. I really like this site, and I'm actually busy downloading several files at the moment, and I still have a lot on queue!

Happy 6th Wedding Anniversary

Happy 6th wedding anniversary to me and my husband Henry. It's been 6 years of married life plus 4 years of being together as boyfriend and girlfriend. Our love for each other has given us 2 beautiful daughters and a life I couldn't ask for anything anymore. Looking forward to spending many more years of my life with you.

You Gotta See This!

I recently came across the iLASIK Video Contest launched by AMO or Abbott Medical Optics Inc., a recognized global leader in laser vision correction. The contest encourages people to submit videos that display how improved and better eyesight have made an impact on their lives. To date, users have already submitted original MTVs, boxing and swimming videos, and other videos which display how better vision is making an impact on their daily lives.

What's even better is that people can actually win $5,000 as grand prize. There are also other prizes available, like an HDTV and an HD camcorder valued at over hundreds of dollars. All you need to do is to submit a video which can fall under the following categories:

  • "My contacts are getting in the way of my good time."
  • "My favorite sport or activity would be so much cooler with better vision."
  • "You should see life after the iLasik Procedure."

After you've submitted a video, you can ask your friends to vote for your video for a chance to win the prizes mentioned above. Your friend's votes actually play a major part in determining who wins the cool prizes mentioned above.

So put your thinking caps on and be creative! Get your video recorder and come up with a video that shows how much your life would be better and more fun if you had better vision.

FTFW - WTF???

I was browsing through profiles of friends of mine and I noticed on a friend's profile, on the field where it says the job description: FTFW, and I was like, WTF?!?

I found out that FTFW actually means Full Time Freelance Writer, and I couldn't help but laugh. That was exactly what I was into at the moment, and I didn't think of officially calling it such.

I guess since my mom in law's left for Hawaii and I'm watching the kids, I will be in this field for the long haul, unless fate changes things and we decide to put up a business.

The InStyler

I was watching Home Shopping TV when I came across The InStyler. It's like a rotating hot iron that also acts as a curler at the same time. Results are actually different depending on how you use it. I'm curious to find out if the product is actually effective and of course, if it actually works. The InStyler sells for Php 5995, and I'm not about to spend that much for something that I am not 100% sure actually works.

If you own or have used The InStyler, please tell me how it worked for you so I can snap out of my drooling phase, lol!

Blog Advertising Store

As part of my paid to blog efforts, I am blogging with Blog Advertising Store. The site used to be called Paying Post, and I am unsure of the reason behind the change of name.

I have been browsing the site and find the blog posts very informative. My favorite post by far is the post entitled Quick Start Guide - Blogging for Money. It is really a must-read for anyone who wants to venture into the world of making money online through blogging.

The payout for other paid to post sites is like a week after your blog post gets approved, others pay after 30 days, but for Blog Advertising Store, they pay once your balance reaches $100. It is quite a feat, but they are doing this so that other bloggers who take advantage of the system are kept to a minimum. By taking advantage I mean those bloggers who delete the post after they receive payment, or those who use no-follow links after they get their payment.

I have not reached the minimum payout amount yet, but I am hoping that I do so soon. Like with other paid to post sites, I have read some negative reviews about Blog Advertising Store when it comes to payouts. I guess I will have to take my chances like any other blogger out there.

Algadon - A Free Online RPG

If you are in search of a free online RPG that you can play, why not check out Algadon? It is a free online RPG where your character can perform and complete quests, do battle with monsters, fight with other players, and so much more.

In Algadon, you can buy different weapons, armor, spells, and feed your character with food to help you during leveling. As you progress in the game as with other MMORPGs, more quests, weapons, and armors become available. This pretty much means that as your character increases in level, stronger weapons and armors become available at your disposal.

Check out Algadon and start enjoying the medieval fantasy online role playing game today!

News and YouTube

I am having a hard time digesting the news I watched on YouTube.

I was searching for an old friend of mine on social networking sites to no avail, so I decided to Google him instead. To be honest, this search was bought about by a dream I had a few weeks ago. He wasn't really the main character in my dream, but he just sort of appeared and I recall seeing him take off a black shirt. I saw the tattoos he had, and that was it.

I just recalled his last name today, so I searched in FaceBook and Friendster, but there were no results. I guess having two C-Sections really got the best of me. Google gave me a result on YouTube, so I watched the video even though the title said farewell.

I could hardly believe my eyes as I saw the pictures. It was really the person I was looking for. I had to pause and look at the pictures twice and thrice since I really couldn't believe it. The guy who made the slideshow of pictures said he passed away due to a motorcycle accident.

I still find everything surreal at the moment.

AION - A Review

I recently got the chance to get my hands on aion, a very new MMO out there. As I have played a lot of MMORPGs before, I was really looking forward to playing something new, and it happened to be the said game.

For starters, what I can say is a big whoa! Talk about detail! A look at the backgrounds, the scenery, the character detail, everything is amazing. Also, because of this, expect that not every computer (especially older ones) will be able to support this game.

Another aspect of the game that I like is that your character can fly. Of course, they can't fly all the time as there is a limit to the time you can spend on air, but it's a pretty nice thing to do, especially with all the scenery you can see in Aion.

Another thing I like about this game is the fact that your character can hold what is called stigma stones and use the skills of another class. In other online games, you can only use the skills that your character has but here, you don't have to be limited to the skills your character has. This is great because should PVP come along, your opponent will definitely be in for a surprise as soon as you whip up your other skills that they don't know about.

I also got the chance to visit the aion forum and it is another whoa! for me. The site is obviously very well maintained and the design is very detailed. It's obvious that the developers of this game have spent a lot of time not only in the game itself, but also in the forum where players usually hang out when they're not in the game itself.

Paying Post is now Blog Advertising Store

Over the past few days as I have been really busy with the kids, chores, and other online work, it is really just now that I have some time to really sit down and do some catching up on my blogs. As I visited the bookmarked links to my paid to post sites, I was surprised to see that Paying Post has now changed its name to Blog Advertising Store.

Everything on the site is pretty much the same - the web layout, my log in info did not change, and almost everything on the site stayed the same, except for the name. I am not sure as to what caused the change, but I am sure that it is all for the better and in time, bloggers like me will get used to the change, if they haven't done so already.

Great Articles on Web Articles

As I love to write, I also certainly love to read. Obviously, blogging is one of my hobbies and since this is something I love to do and at the same time make money out of, I want to learn as much as I can about it.

I came across an article that discusses what a blog is, and I am really glad I did. After reading the article, I am much more motivated about blogging and I am not regretting every minute or even hour I spend in front of the PC. This article made me realize how powerful blogging is and what an impact it has to the entire online community. Since almost everybody nowadays has access to the internet, whether it be from computers, laptops, PDAs or smartphones, blogging influences them in one way or the other. And I am glad to be part of this power that is widespread across the globe and in the entire online community.

I truly hope that all businesses will see the importance of having their own website up and having bloggers promote their products and services. Not because I will benefit as a paid blogger (lol!) but because their business will surely benefit from the word that influential bloggers can spread to their readers.

Now, I am off to reading another great article on what to do in the garden on November. Cheers!

A New Puppy

Today, Henry came home with an adorable Shih Tzu puppy as a present for Keisha's 6th birthday on the 29th. After days and days of searching online, we decided on this puppy as a present for her. Complete with shots and PCCI papers, Keisha named her puppy Ron Weasley from Harry Potter. I'll be uploading pictures here and on my Facebook account after we've given him a bath next week.

Goodbye

Today I said goodbye to a great woman who has taken care of my kids for the last 5 years and who has raised my husband to be the great man he is. I also said my goodbye to the woman who has learned to love and accept me unconditionally despite all of my shortcomings and hangups as a daughter and as a mother to my kids.

I'll really, really miss my mother in law and I'll eagerly wait until two years is over so she can come and vacation here in the Philippines.

Online Earnings from 08/24/2009 - 09/11/2009

For the last 19 days, I was able to make a total of $347.40 online, or converted to Php 16,357.85 by PayPal. PayPal has a pretty low exchange rate, they only converted my dollar earnings to a little over Php47 for every dollar, when elsewhere the exchange rate is at Php48.++

Well, I can't and I'm not complaining. Ever since I started blogging and writing online, PayPal has been transferring my online earnings safely and securely to my bank account at no hassles. I guess their lower exchange rate is just a way for them to cover their expenses.

As Busy as a Bee

I have some free time on my hands right now so I decided to take apeek at how my blogs were doing. Well, they haven't left me yet, but I can't help but feel that since I have been busy with so much work at the moment I have honestly neglected my blogs. Before, I would write everyday but now I end up posting at least once a week.

I guess the sooner I sort a schedule where I can manage blogging and my online writing jobs, the sooner I can have more time on my hands. Besides, I have two writers with me so I shouldn't be stressed at all, right?

Online Car Search

If you are looking for new cars, cars for lease, or used cars, this site I came across called Buy Your Car offers a lot of interesting stuff. Unlike most online car searches wherein only used cars or new cars are displayed, this site shows all of those I mentioned which allows it users maximum flexibility in choosing the car that fits their budget and lifestyle. What's more is that you not only get information about the cars, the site also offers comparative information to comprehensive insurance plans every car owner should have. On top of all these, car reviews from real people are also available so you can read on what others who've driven the car think of it before you make your purchase.

This Week's Blog Earnings

If last week I made Php9,7++, this week is only Php6,+++. I guess it's because of a number of reasons.

First of all, I was out of the house a lot of times last week. I was busy with getting my mom in law's money for her plane ticket to Hawaii, busy going to the US Embassy for her interview, and busy shopping for a suitcase to pack all of her things in, not to mention grocery shopping.

But in all fairness, I think that making Php6,+++ is OK. First of all, the only investment I make is electricity. Since I am on my laptop most of the time, I rarely consume electricity. In fact, our light bill didn't even go up by Php100 when I got the laptop. Our electric bill has always been Php2,+++ and it's still the same.

I wanted to take a screenshot as I have been doing in FaceBook, but since I am not withdrawing funds until next week, I won't be able to do so.

Best of Time – Where Time Lasts Forever

Since a lot of my family member's birthdays plus the holidays are coming up soon, I have been browsing several web sites already, getting gift ideas and maybe do an extra early shopping for them.

As my father has a passion for Rolex watches, I came across this site called www.bestoftime.com. The site actually sells genuine Rolex watches, but they sell it as a discounted/less price. At the same time, the site also sells pre-owned Rolex watches that are still in mint condition.

The Rolex watches that the site www.bestoftime.com has for sale have their serial numbers, and comes with brand new genuine Rolex boxes. In case you're shopping around for the perfect gift, this gift already comes with its own packaging.

Some people may doubt the authenticity of the products being sold because they are being sold at such a cheap price. The site is actually a proud member of the Better Business Bureau so you can rest assured that all of your transactions with them will be legitimate. All of the watches also come with a 3 year warranty, as well as free shipping via FedEx. In case you are interested in making a purchase, here are the website's contact information.

Have your Family Vacation in Riviera Maya!

If you're thinking about planning a family vacation, do consider the white sand beaches of the Mexican Riviera Maya.

Hold on - the place is not just for swimming. When you go to the Riviera Maya, check in the Karisma Hotels where the resort offers tons of activities perfect for a family vacation. The resort serves excellent food along with an excellent level of service that makes the stay very memorable.

What's cool about the Karisma Hotels is that aside from the many things you can do while on vacation, food will not be one of your concerns. I'm not talking about simple buffets or fast food meals here - I'm talking about Gourmet Inclusive, where everything on the family vacation is included. Cooking that is at par with the standards of the best restaurants prepared in exciting ways that appeal to all of one's senses.

Karisma’s five signature resorts include: El Dorado Royale Spa Resort (adults only), El Dorado Seaside Suites (adults only), Azul Beach (family-friendly) and Azul Blue (family-friendly – opening November 2006) and Hidden Beach Resort (naturalist).

For more information, please contact Pamela Johnston at pamela@pjinc.net or Amanda Deveaux at amanda@pjinc.net or call 212-629-8445.

How to Get Jobs on oDesk

I've been a member of oDesk since May 2009 and so far, I've landed quite a number of jobs already. The first job I landed was a writing job wherein I had to review an MMORPG. I found it very easy because I love playing MMORPGs myself. After a few days, oDesk sent me my payment for that article.

The second job I landed was for a client who asked me to write travel articles of 400 words in length. After this project, the client kept sending me 5 articles to write every week. Right now, we're still working together and I'm glad I earned the trust of this provider. Payments are always on time and the work load is consistent.

I also landed a position where I am a paid blogger for a wedding site. I am tasked to make a post every day and payments are also on a weekly basis. This is still an ongoing project of mine that I am very pleased with.

After that, I received two offers promising consistent work every day. Payouts were to be completed every Saturdays Manila time through PayPal. I had to decline these offers as these are against oDesk terms. If you are hired in oDesk, you also have to receive your payments through oDesk.

Recently, I landed a job that pays $4/hour. I re-write web content for people who are renovating their websites and so far, the two pages I rewrote took me an hour and a half to complete. I'm not sure if getting paid per article is better or getting paid per hour. Lol!

I also landed another job at oDesk where it pays $4/hour, and I also re-write web content. Both these hourly jobs are still active up to now and I am just waiting for new material to be sent.

A job that pays $3 for every 400 word article also came my way. I have completed only 1 article since I was only given one topic to start with. I received positive feedback with the job and I am looking forward to more.

Aside from these jobs, a paid blogging job I've had for almost 3 years is still ongoing. I write one post a week for 21 music blogs and I'm very, very happy with that job. For the last 3 years, payments were never a problem and the guy I write for is a great person to say the least.

If you guys want to try your hand out at landing jobs on oDesk, I'll be more than happy to help. One tip I can give you guys is to make your profile as complete as possible. Buyers won't be interested in hiring providers like you and me when there is barely anything on our profiles to read, right?

On Web Hosting Reviews

I have been seriously giving some thought to getting a domain of my own. I feel that my own .com or .net sounds right to my ears, and I've already thought of the name of my domain.

But like a lot of people, I don't know a lot of good domains and the only ones I know are those Yahoo! domains and Google domains. For me, webhosting is something new and something I didn't know much about.

For other bloggers like me who are looking for a new web hosting solution, a site called Web Hosting Reviews has saved newbies like us from the hassle of having to choose which web hosting provider to choose from. The site gives important feedback and reviews on different web hosting services as well as the pros and cons (if any) that any person who would want to have their own website should know.

Also, I was reading up on their very useful article entitled Top 5 Affordable Registrars in 2009. It pretty much addressed my concerns about which domain provider to go to, as well as a comparison of all the leading domain providers out there who can cater to people who are on a budget like me.

Goodbye Cory Aquino

The Philippines mourns the death of former president Corazon Aquino who passed away today due to cardiopulmonary arrest due to complications of her colon cancer.

She made history by being the first female president of the Philippines and also the first female president in the whole of Asia.

May this brave woman who changed the course of history in the Philippines, its government, and its economy rest in peace.

12 Days to Go

It's officially 12 days before my birthday when I turn 26. I am not excited, lol! I'm only 4 years away till I turn 30!!! OMG!!!

Oh well, whenever I look back at the life I've led, I have no regrets. I have 2 amazing kids, an awesome husband, and a life that's far less than ordinary. My life is not perfect and I too am not perfect, but I wouldn't have things any other way.

There are times when problems arise or when money is short or when we get sick, but hey, who doesn't? With the family I have, I don't think there's any problem we can't overcome.

So as I sit back and count the days when I turn 26, I look back with a smile. I wonder when wrinkles first show up? Lol!

House Season 5

I've said this before and I'll say it again - I LOVE HOUSE!!!!!!!!

I love how the plot twists and turns and the medical puzzles they solve daily. I love how each doctor brainstorms until they figure out what's wrong with a patient, and how House has these sudden epiphanies when solving a puzzle.

On Spam Blogs

I received an email from Blogger that one of my blogs, Life With Keisha, was being blocked because of spam. They said that my blog was identified as spam and unless I requested for a manual review, they would be blocking it.

I did file the request to have the blog reviewed by a real, live person and that person unblocked my blog. I was so happy because that blog has been around for almost 2 years, and to have it blocked just because the robots that checked thought it was spam would be heartbreaking.

I am glad everything is settled and everything is back to normal with my blog.

For June, I made a total of $200.74, I'd like to think it's not bad since some of the weeks in June I spent only a couple of hours. I only got to spend more time on the PC when I got sick. I'm excited to see how much July's earnings will be.

Silver Bars

Looking for a great investment? Try investing in silver bars! Of course, when choosing where to buy your silver bars, I highly suggest buying from the MDC, or the Monex Deposit Company. The MDC is considered as the American leader in gold, silver, and precious metals investment.

When buying silver, you have the option of buying them in coin or ingot form. Ingots are pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape, while coins are common and have a currency value. It would be a good idea to buy silver now, because the demand for silver exceeds annual production, and it has been such since 1990.

So, if you are in search of a great investment, do try out silver bars. With demands for silver exceeding supplies, you are sure that this is a smart investment that will yield high returns.

Bloggers and Blogging

I've always had a passion for writing, and I am so glad and thankful that I cam across the concept of blogging. I can share my thoughts and opinions to the world, and even make a small amount with it. Imagine this, getting paid to do what you love!

Of course, since blogging is something that I love doing, I'd like to learn as much as I can about it. I wouldn't want to be just writing away but doing things wrong, right? So, I tried to search and find some useful online tools for a blogger. With the technology we have, it's best that I search and know as much as I can about this blogging world.

I learned that adding some images are a great way to attract more readers. Staring at paragraphs and paragraphs of text can be enough to drive a reader away, as a whole page full of text can be quite boring. Adding videos are also a great way to add some sparkle to your blog, as your readers can not only read about the topic you are writing about, but they can also watch it.

The choice of font, blog template, and the layout of your blog are also some things you need to consider when starting a blog and writing on it. When writing a blog, choosing how many columns you will have is also important, as you will need some space where to put your posts, some ads to help you earn money, and some images and widgets that will be useful to you and your blog.

So to all the bloggers out there, it is best to be prepared before starting a blog of your own. We wouldn't want to start on the wrong foot now would we? Happy blogging to all the bloggers out there in the wide world of blogosphere!

Plus is OK

I've always admired the likes of Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. With their polished faces, impeccable smiles, perfect hair, and Barbie - like bodies, who wouldn't? When I was growing up I'd eat half of my food since I was never thin enough in my own opinion and I imitated their walks on the catwalk, I'd fix my hair and play with make-up, and dress up with clothes I found from my mom's and my sister's closets.

But when I got into a long term relationship that eventually ended up into marriage, I realized that I liked myself. Even though I was never as slim or as thin as I wanted to be, somebody fell in love with me for just the way I was. This realization came as an epiphany for me and it opened my eyes into self acceptance. Sure, I'll never be a Kate Moss or a Cindy Crawford in this life, but I was special and I meant the world to someone, just the way I am. For me, that meant a whole lot more.

Years later and with two children of my own who are also girls, I try to imbue in them the value of loving themselves. With motherhood and being a wife, I may have gained more weight than when I was single, but being a plus size doesn't mean the end of the world. I've learned that dress sizes shouldn't mean everything to us as it certainly does not hold the key to one's happiness. A dress size should not dictate what kind of life a person is bound to live, and it should not be everything there is about a person. There is far more to life than fitting into small sized clothes, and I wish I had learned that sooner.

All I can say is, to those who are easily attracted by physical appearances, especially towards thin people, you don't know what you're missing. Sure, they may be attractive and look better in clothes, but try being skin deep for a change. Being a plus size is absolutely OK.

Happy Birthday Nicole!

Happy 2nd Birthday Nicole!
Love, Mommy, Daddy, Lola, and Ate Keisha.

Touch Phones

I have always wanted a touch screen phone ever since the Apple iPhone was released, but I was stuck deciding on which touch phone I should buy. Of course, I wanted the touch phones pay as you go kind, because I'd like to be able to control how I spend - be it through SMS, MMS, and for calls, not to mention that I also want to use WAP for browsing the internet on my phone while on the go. So, I also have to take into consideration my data costs.

Samsung touch phones are the phones I considered at first, because Samsung is a great brand and it has always been very popular. Plus, Samsung phones do not depreciate fast. The prices of Samsung phones are relatively stable and they stay at the same amount for months and months. But I've never had a Samsung phone before and I don't really know much about navigating it and I wonder how I would go about using it. Of course, I would like to be able to use my phone to its full potential, and use all of its features to my advantage. With this in mind, I would like to have a touch screen phone that is also very much user friendly.

So I ended up buying Nokia touch phones, particularly the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music which is red in color, my favorite color. I have had a Nokia phone before, and it was actually the first brand of my first ever cellular phone years and years ago. Even though I was a newbie when it came to cellphones, I didn't have a hard time navigating my first Nokia phone. So, the daunting concept of me having a touch phone would not be so daunting if I had a Nokia one. As I thought, I was right! I totally love my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music phone. With its 8GB internal memory and 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera, I can take all of my favorite songs with me on the go and take clear pictures and not have to delete them. With its built in WiFi technology, I can also surf the internet wherever I am! I just love this touch phone, and I wish I had bought it sooner!

Drag Me to Hell

We watched Drag Me to Hell a few weeks back and I just not got the time to blog about it. It's a horror - suspense movie featuring an ordinary girl with a great life, a great boyfriend, and a promising promotion at the bank she works for. But in 3 days unless she breaks the curse, she's going to hell.

The movie managed to make me scream in a few scenes, since they were very well made and the make-up and animation was great. The movie was also very fast paced and totally not dragging, and there's really no dull moment while watching the movie. All the actors were really great, and they fit their roles perfectly.

What I didn't like about the movie though is that the movie, Drag Me to Hell, had a very predictable ending. I don't want to be a spoiler, so just watch the movie and find out for yourself what I mean. It will bring out some screams, but I felt disappointed at the end.

Endurance Athletes

I've never been the sporty type of person, but I am a fan of sports though I am not directly involved in it. I admire people involved in sports, especially those who are winning in the Olympics and those making a name for themselves because of sports. I wonder, will I be able to push myself into doing sports? I don't expect to win a medal, I just want to be fit and perform my best in the sport I choose.

Goodbye to the King of Pop

I was surprised to find out that Michael Jackson passed away. I was going to log into my Yahoo Mail when the headline grabbed my attention. The report said he was in full cardiac arrest and didn't have a pulse.

I am sorry to hear that a very important part of the music industry has passed away. Sure, he was involved in child molestation cases and the world watched as his face and skin color changed, but to me he is still just a musician. Whatever he does with his personal life is something that is not really my business. He became popular for his music, not for his personality in the first place.

So to the King of Pop Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), thank you for the music and you will always be remembered.

My Workstation

Working in a contact center can be frustrating, especially if you get lots and lots of irate callers. What I do is I always have pictures of my family with me so that I will always keep a cool head and not get affected with whatever is happening with me and my callers. It works for me, while for some, they have a mirror to make sure that they are always smiling since the smile really does show through the phone.

I have pictures of Henry, Keisha, and Nicole, and I even have them as my wallpaper on my PC. Here's what my workstation looks like:

They're my inspiration, and they keep me focused at work. Having their pictures around me while I work makes sense to me!

Dream With Me

Here's a good question:

If money is of no object, what furniture would you like to put in your home?

I'd probably go with rustic furniture. They're timeless and very functional and at the same time, very beautiful. Like this bed for example. I'd love to sleep and wake up on a bed like this.

Happy Independence Day!

The Digital Transition

June 12 marks Philippine Independence, but for the United States,
it marks the digital transition. A lot of people fully understand what's happening on the 12th (tomorrow US time). Basically, the channels that people can watch on rabbit ears or an off air antenna that is connected to an analog TV will no longer be available. People will either have to have digital converters and/or a cable or satellite TV provider to continue getting channels.

By doing so, there will be more frequencies for the government to use like for fire, rescue, and the police. By going digital. TV stations will be able to provide better quality picture and sound. Both the government, TV station providers, and the viewers will be benefiting from this change. It's a major change, and a lot of people will be left with major adjustments but in the end, it's all for the good. Hopefully things turn out well for the people of the USA tomorrow.

My Favicon is Missing!

I was honestly going to make a post about something really different until I noticed that my favicons are missing! OMG!!!

All four of my blogs - Rant and Rave!, Something and Nothing at All, Life with Keisha, and Life with Nicole all had favicons and now they're ALL gone!!!

I don't know what's wrong or whether the site I'm hosting the favicons are are just experiencing a system maintenance or something. The last time I logged in and changed blog templates, everything was working fine.

I guess I may have to wait this out for a couple of days before taking any drastic measures. Who knows? This just might fix itself by itself.

Coffee anyone?

New Blog Templates

I am so raving about the templates I came across with. Although I spent a considerable time installing them and re-adding widgets and other stuff in the HTML, it's all well worth it. I just love how Life with Keisha and Life with Nicole looks like. Do head on and visit these blogs so you'll see what I mean. Do stop by and leave a comment on what you think.

See you there!

Hair, Beautiful Hair!

For quite some time now I've kept my hair long, one of the reasons being Henry likes it this way. But it can get hot and hard to manage. Plus, there are also hairstyles that I would like to play around with. What about you, what do you take into account when choosing a hair style?

On The Katrina Halili - Hayden Kho Sex Scandal

I've been keeping my thoughts to myself since this scandal came out, but I feel I just have to voice my opinion out. I'm getting pissed off about the media attention this case is getting. In the Philippines, this news is hotter than the H1N1 virus. I'm sick of seeing their faces plastered in the papers and on TV.

All I can say is that for me, the true victim here is no other than Dr. Vicky Belo. She loved a man much, much younger than she is and trusted a patient, a friend so much that the idea of her and the man she loved would do something behind her back was the last thing on her mind.

If she was the one who released these videos, I really can't blame her. Not that I'm saying she's the one who released the videos, mind you. But as the saying goes, hell hath no fury than a woman scorned.

Releasing the videos can be considered wrong, especially in the minds of the conservative Filipinos. One thing I can say to Katrina Halili is, there is no stone that will be left unturned, no secret will be hidden forever. Sure, as she has said over and over again in the news that she's sorry and she's repented for her sin, this is what someone gets when you sleep with your friend's boyfriend. Yes, life is cruel, karma is cruel, but think of how Dr. Belo felt when she found out about everything. She's the real victim here.
