On The Katrina Halili - Hayden Kho Sex Scandal

I've been keeping my thoughts to myself since this scandal came out, but I feel I just have to voice my opinion out. I'm getting pissed off about the media attention this case is getting. In the Philippines, this news is hotter than the H1N1 virus. I'm sick of seeing their faces plastered in the papers and on TV.

All I can say is that for me, the true victim here is no other than Dr. Vicky Belo. She loved a man much, much younger than she is and trusted a patient, a friend so much that the idea of her and the man she loved would do something behind her back was the last thing on her mind.

If she was the one who released these videos, I really can't blame her. Not that I'm saying she's the one who released the videos, mind you. But as the saying goes, hell hath no fury than a woman scorned.

Releasing the videos can be considered wrong, especially in the minds of the conservative Filipinos. One thing I can say to Katrina Halili is, there is no stone that will be left unturned, no secret will be hidden forever. Sure, as she has said over and over again in the news that she's sorry and she's repented for her sin, this is what someone gets when you sleep with your friend's boyfriend. Yes, life is cruel, karma is cruel, but think of how Dr. Belo felt when she found out about everything. She's the real victim here.

My Facebook Badge

I just created a FaceBook account, and so far, things seem to be nice. I like how you can chat with online friends and the layout is really great. So far I'm liking it, even though I've been with Friendster for so many years.

If A Man

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.

If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.

Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.

Allow your intuition (or spirit) to save you from heartache.

Stop trying to change yourself for a relationship that's not meant to be.

Slower is better.

Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.

If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't "be friends".

A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend. Don't settle.

If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.

Don't stay because you think "it will get better."

You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.

The only person you can control in a relationship is you.

Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.

He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, why would he treat you any differently?

Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.

If something bothers you, speak up.

Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.

You cannot change a man's behavior.

Change comes from within.

Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are...even if he has more education or in a better job.

Do not make him into a quasi-god.

He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

Never let a man define who you are.

Never borrow someone else's man.

If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.

A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.

All men are NOT dogs.

You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is a two way street.

You need time to heal between relationships...there is nothing cute about baggage...

Deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship.

You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...

A relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals...

Look for someone complimentary...
not supplementary.

Dating is fun...
even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.

Make him miss you sometimes...
when a man always know where you are, and you're always readily available to him - he takes it for granted.

Never move into his mother's house.

Never co-sign for a man.

Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.

Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

****

Share this with other women and men (just so they know)...
You'll make someone smile, another rethink her choices, and another woman prepare.

Ako Mismo

AKO MISMO is about YOU!

Making a stand and taking real action for the causes you believe in. Causes that you yourself can truly pursue to make a real, positive difference to your fellow countryman, to your country.

It is for you who still dare to hope that life for millions doesnt have to be a hopeless battle against problems like poverty, illiteracy, unemployment.

It is for you who believe that not enough is being done about our countrys problems. And that to do right things, youll do them yourself.

It is a movement where you can show your patriotism and compassion, and make these traits infectious.

Its about action that eradicates hopelessness in every Filipino.

How hard will this be to accomplish? Well that will be entirely up to you.

In AKO MISMO you get to choose the cause you wish to pursue. No cause is too small as long as it is a noble one. All we ask is that you make a pledge to do it.

You yourself can pledge anything: from teaching English to your yayas kid, to making sure that your barangay is dengue-free.

Or make a pledge to do your part in ending corruption, prostitution, illegal drugs or the inhumane treatment of animals. The choice is yours.

No matter how small, as long as you pledge that you yourself will take action, its sure to make a big difference.

Giving more hope for Filipinos to stop merely surviving, and start living. And it starts with you.

How Does Commission Junction Work?

I recently joined Commission Junction and I am wondering what will happen with my venture with them.

I tried applying for some programs, and some of them got approved and on some, I am still waiting for approval. Some of the applications have been downright declined for some reasons, I guess for some demographic reasons.

I have yet to put the links and banners up on my blog where the programs were approved, but I will get to doing them soon.

Is there anyone there who is an active member of Commission Junction who can help me out in figuring how Commission Junction actually works? Thanks!

On Affiliate Programs

Since I've been blogging and making money out of it, I have also searched for more information on affiliate programs. But since I am relatively new to the world of making money online, I am not sure exactly what affiliate programs do and how exactly I would be making money out of it.

As I researched, an affiliate program is sort of like a third party company that allows them to offer commissions for the clicks, leads, or sales that are generated on behalf of the company they are representing. For bloggers like me, I can sign up as a publisher through an affiliate program and I can choose to publish ads or place links on my site or blog. I can get paid either per click, per view, or per sign - up through those links that I place on my site. These advertisers will have some sort of tracking of the clicks or impressions made from my website or blog are valid and then I'll get paid.

As a blogger like me, an important factor to make money through affiliate programs would be the number of unique visitors I get in a month. Unique visitors are those people who have never visited your site before and their IP address is new to your website. Ad placement is also very important, so that your visitors would be enticed or encouraged to click your ads. Strategic ad placement in a website is also something that you should consider.

Loving my Nokia 5800

I am absolutely loving my Nokia 5800. I didn't realize until a few weeks ago how much this phone could really do.

I was already content to just surf the internet and take pictures with it. But when I started downloading stuff on it like Office applications, games, and other applications, I just realized how much I could do with it.

To sum it up, my phone is like a mini computer. Plus, it's touch screen and absolutely portable. It'll probably be quite a long time before I'll be buying a new one.

Congratulations Manny!

Congratulations Manny Pacquiao for defeating Ricky Hatton by KO in the 2nd round of yesterday's match!

Angels and Demons

I can hardly wait for Angels and Demons to be shown! Henry promised me that we'd watch it together, just like what we did when we watched The Da Vinci Code. This time, I already read the book which is why I can't wait to see it in the movies.

I'm a big fan of Dan Brown because the way he writes leaves me holding my breath as I turn each page. Also, when I read those books, I didn't put them down, even while I was on the bus on my way home. I literally finished the books in one sitting.

So there, I hope the movie does live up to my expectations, as I am really excited to watch it!

Ride the Flying Ray!

Good luck Manny!

Good luck Manny!

***UPDATE: Manny Pacquiao knocked out Ricky Hatton on the 2nd round of their fight! With Manny Pacquiao's signature left hook, he knocked Hatton out for the title. Congratulations, Manny! You really deserve the title The Greatest Fighter Today. I'm sure there'll be a big victory party to welcome Manny once he gets home to the Philippines.

Get Paid to be a Hacker!

Have you ever dreamed what it would be like to be a real life hacker?

I've watched several movies wherein people who are so smart and knowledgeable about computers are hired by secret agencies to be their hacker, and get paid tons just by doing so. Like the movie Hackers for instance, I think what they were doing was really cool. Now imagine being a hacker as work - now wouldn't that be cool?!

Now if I was to be a hacker, I'd definitely be a Certified Ethical Hacker. What would this mean for me? Well, I'd only be hacking for good reasons. Like I'd hack our computer systems at work so that our IT team would tighten their IT Security. We'd be able to know exactly where our systems are vulnerable to attacks and we'd work on those.

Ethical Hacking is a real job, and it is also one of those jobs promising rising pay, and you'd be an indispensable part of any company with an IT team. By being an ethical hacker, you'd learn about security fundamentals, like how a network's security usually works, penetration testing, computer forensics (yes, there is such a thing), disaster recovery (lke when your system crashes and how you can recover data and get everything back on track), and secure programming.

Think of it this way - who would be a better person to help set up a secure network than someone who knows how to hack it?

Happy Labor Day!

Here in the Philippines, Labor Day is celebrated on the 1st of May. For people who have to work on this day (like me!), we are paid double of our daily rate. This day is to commemorate all the laborers and workers of the world who contribute to making the country and the economy better. How, you may ask. Well it's pretty simple - through the taxes we pay, of course!
