Bad Credit Loans

A good credit standing is something that is hard to attain and maintain. As there will be few companies and organizations that will trust you with their credit and/or services, most people with a not-so great credit history often tend to grab the first offer they get in the mail, regardless of its terms.

There are a lot of bad credit loans available but try thinking of it as a regular type of loan wherein it would be best to compare and get as much information about the loans before deciding which company to go to and apply for the loan there. Interest rates, payment terms, and other factors that make up the loan may consequently be to any debtors advantage as they may find themselves either in more debt or they may regain their financial stability.

With Bad Credit Offers, their company continuously monitors the online marketplace that will bring you the "best" bad credit offers available which includes credit cards, home loans, auto loans, personal loans, and many more. This may be your chance to redeem your credit rating and recover financial stability.

Casino for Beginners

As you may have noticed, I've been doing several research and reviews on web sites that offer online backgammon, poker, slots, and other gambling sites as I want to find out what the hype is all about. Now, I come across a site called Casino Scrutiny that is more than just another online casino web site.

What makes this site unique is that this site actually "reviews" other online casino web sites and is actually a handy gambling guide for beginners like me. The site doesn't really focus on how the customer service is on the sites it talks about or how the software is, whether it is easy to use or not, but how the owner "actually feels" when playing with these sites. It's like giving you a bird's eye view of what actually happens so you know what to expect.

Casino Scrutiny offers several reviews of online casino and gambling sites including popular web sites such as Rushmore Casino, Golden Casino, Millionaire Casino, and other quality casino sites. The site also offers quick and easy access to relevant gambling news that anyone who's into these types of sites for either money or just for fun should be kept up-to-date with. The site also offers a Strategy Tip of the Day, which is also another must-read.

Cash for the Holidays

I honestly found myself a bit short on cash with the holidays and all. The gifts I wanted to give to my loved ones were the gifts they wanted, not just the gift I could afford. I seriously considered getting a cash advance, especially since my blogging gig payments would not be coming in until after Christmas, which was so not what I had in mind. A PayPal transfer to my debit card takes about 4-5 business days and with the holidays all bunched up together, it took longer than expected.

As I was already looking for information about cash loans, my husband and I just decided not to over-celebrate the season and instead just try to get our money's worth especially with the food, the gifts, and all the other expenses we originally had in mind. One of the things we prioritized was getting the gift our daughter wanted, and the rest we managed to work something out.

We cooked enough for all of us, with a little extra for unexpected guests and hopefully some to keep in the fridge for the following day. We also decided to cook only what we actually wanted to eat and what we could eat. Also, deciding to cook healthy foods also surprisingly saved us more than just the regular food.

Yes, the holidays still did turn out really well, and I'm glad we're still sticking t our debt-free policy.

Play Backgammon Online at Gammon Fortune

As I continue my quest to discover what the rave about online betting, poker, gambling, and casinos is all about, I come across a site called Gammon-Fortune that is interestingly enough available in six (6) different languages and offers backgammon online.

As there are already many sites that offer online backgammon, this site also offers information about backgammon tournaments and events, and also has backgammon software that is available for download either for you to play backgammon for real money or just for fun.

Surviving the Internet

If you run your business online, it's a cut-throat competition to say the least. You will definitely need the assistance of several people, like a web designer, an SEO expert, a reliable domain host, etc. Traffic to your site is also another important aspect that you will need to consider if you want your business to succeed. A SEO specialist will be able to help you achieve the traffic you need, however most SEO services normally come with a fee.

If you want your business to succeed and are determined to make the most out of your online business, these are just some of the factors you need to think about if you want to survive on the Internet.

Rank what You Like at Rankrz

People have preferences one over the other, and Rankrz is the best place to voice these preferences out. Rankrz is an online community that caters to individuals all over the world wherein they are free to rank various items and even create your own. Some of the things you can do at Rankrs are the following:
  • create your own rankings;
  • write about your opinions;
  • view other people's rankings;
  • view how individual rankings add up to an overall ranking; and
  • discuss a ranking.
What's even better is that you also get compensated for your efforts and active participation at Rankrz. How it works is that after you've signed up for an account at Rankrz, you can add your Adsense and Amazon ads from your website or blog on your Rankrz account page and they will be displayed on the site. Your account gets credited 50% of time on ad-sharing pages, and you can also display relevant ads as Rankrz uses contextual Google and Amazon ads. Simply put, if your account has good ranking contents, it can mean a decent income for you as well.

Spock (No, not Star Trek)

No, I'm not referring to Spock in Star Trek, but the website called Spock. Spock.com - A Great Place for Search, is becoming really popular nowadays. Instead of other people search engines that base results on certain keywords, you can base your search on words you know - like brunettes, blue eyes, curly hair, etc. without having to remember keywords or certain parameters while performing a search.

Like for example, since I love listening to rock music and it often rocks me to sleep (pardon my pun), one of the musicians I absolutely love is Sting, aka Gordon Sumner. So imagine my surprise when I found him on Spock. My search for Sting revealed this result:

What I did was put in the search field the keywords "actor-singer (http://www.spock.com/q/actor%2345singer)" and the results listed Sting as one of the actor-singers. Other results for the same search include Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, John Lennon, David Bowe, Madonna, Queen Latifah, Hilary Duff and Justin Timberlake, to name a few. The actors-singers that the results pulled up are too many to mention, so just check out this widget:

When I found the page for Sting, I became aware of his birthday, images of his other band mates, and other information about him that I didn't know. Links to other pages providing further information about Sting like from Wikipedia, his official web site, and Album of the Month are also available on one page.

I hope you check the site out, create an account, and start building your own network.

The Lowest Bid Wins

I've come across several online sites that offer games with prizes for money or gadgets and others just for fun, but this site that I recently came across is really different. Prizes that range from Apple I-Phones, HDTVs, designer bags, XBoxes, and even cash prize are up for grabs for the lowest bidder as it is a reverse-auction game.

I personally prefer free gifts compared to cash, and this site offers exactly that option. There's a new winner everyday, and the site is updated regularly to reflect the winners. All you need to do is to be a registered member of the site so that you can play and win prizes, for verification purposes. The goal is to win the prize with the lowest bid or number, and your prize is absolutely free as you are not responsible for paying any money.

So if you're a US citizen, 18 years old and above, you can try your luck and place your lowest bet on several prizes and cash that are up for grabs. If you've done sweepstakes, the lottery, or what-have-yous that are a game of luck, why not try placing your lowest bet on really good items?

The Edge at Online Poker

I've stumbled across several websites that offer online gambling, games, and other stuff like online poker. But if you're serious about playing these games for money and winning them of course, you might want to consider getting a poker calculator. If you're wondering what this is and what it does, it's actually a product that calculates your poker odds and allows you to dominate opponents, make your online poker-playing much easier, and easily win more hands. With the holdem calculator, you can literally hold your opponents and turn every game around to your favor, even if you're having a bad day! So if you're into these online games and stuff, you might want to try having the poker calculator to your advantage.

Have a blessed Christmas everyone! Cheers!

How to Choose a Topic for your Blog

This article is part of How2Blogger’s Super Sexy Holiday ‘How To’ Contest which you can see at How2Blogger’s ‘How To’ site. There are already thousands of blogs in the blogosphere that discusses several topics ranging from a personal biography to astrology and everyday activities. But if you want your blog to stand out, be noticed, and possibly even earn from it, your blog has to have the it factor to succeed. Generating traffic is just a slice of the cake, but content is what will keep readers coming back to your site for more.

If you've already decided on starting up a blog, you might want to consider what your blog will be about. I've made a list of some of the most important things you should take into consideration when choosing a topic for your blog.

1. Write about what interests you.
It's hard to write about travel when you're not a traveler or the farthest destination you've been to is just a bus ride away, or photography when you're not really into taking pictures. If you're hobby is cross-stitching or other crafts, blog about that. Or if you read a lot, why not start a blog about the books you've read or blog about a book you've read daily? It's hard to fake something that you're not interested in, and your readers will feel it too.

2. Write about something that you enjoy.
Blogging is a serious task which is going to require commitment and effort on your part. Aside from writing about something that you're interested in, you should also enjoy it to the point that you're willing to write about it on a regular basis. For example, you may have decided to start a movie blog since you like watching movies, but there are only a few movies you like or actors you enjoy watching. That's not going to provide variety for your readers, unless you are starting a Brad Pitt blog.

3. Think about what other people are interested in.
I honestly only agree with this at a certain point, unless your goal is to make money from your blog. To blog about something popular or what the current "fad" is maybe suicide in itself - your blog may lose its audience just as fast as the fad is replaces with a new one. It would be nice to take into consideration what people are interested in so that you'll have your own audience and enjoy a constant stream of traffic. But honestly, I'd still write about what I like, I'd be the one who'll visit my blog the most and I'll be its biggest fan anyway. For as long as it's not offensive or discriminatory in any way, just go with your guts and blog about it.

4. Think about the content you'll be able to put in your blog.
As I mentioned earlier, it's hard to fake a topic you're not really interested in, or is something you're not well-versed with. Your blog's topic has to be something you're passionate with, otherwise you may experience blogger's block (if there is such a thing already) wherein you'll run out of things to say or ideas to write about. Think about whether you as the blogger will be able to provide enough content, or if you'll have easy and fast access to other resources for your topic to supplement your writing.

5. Determine whether your blog's topic is here to stay.
Some topics only last for so long, like American Idol for instance. The show is popular when it's on, but not so hot during season breaks. If you're going to start a blog about American Idol, expect that you'll receive heavy traffic when the show is aired and not so much visitors when it's not. One thing you may want to keep in mind is that it's easy to determine if a topic is just a phase or if it's here to stay, like base it on conversations you have with friends, newspapers, magazines, and even the Internet.

How you decide on a topic for your blog is really up to you. It's your blog after all, and you're ultimately the one person who gets to decide what it'll be.

About Brochure Stands

We all go to bookstores and other similar stores to buy brochures, greeting cards, post cards, and other small things that we normally find mounted on brochure stands, but have you ever really thought about the brochure stand?

Brochure stands are actually just as important as the items that go with it. If you're the type of person who values presentation as much as I do, the stand is one of the factors that determine whether the items mounted on it will actually sell or not. Brochure stands are one of the first things you see and draw attention whenever you walk into a bookstore or other similar stores. And the second thing you'll see would be the items that are placed on it.

There are different styles of brochure stands that are available for different types of needs. Depending on the items that you're going to place on the stand, surely there's a brochure stand that'll fit your needs.

The Bubblenator

I came across another cool site today that's pretty interesting. It's called The Bubblenator and it's a good site to not only pass time but it is a pretty handy site as well.

I'm saying this because The Bubblenator allows you to load your image URL, and allows you to quickly and easily add a speech bubble on your image, wherever you want it. You can choose either a speech bubble or a thought bubble and make it the size you want, fill it with words, change its size, and add as many speech bubbles as you want.

Once you're done editing your image and adding speech bubbles to it, The Bubblenator also give you a generated HTML code that you can add to wherever you'd normally want to add your image, like in your blog, your website, or just about anywhere you'd normally add your picture. And it's as easy as that!

Free Rice

I came across a site that I cannot help but blog about. It's called Free Rice, and what makes it different from all the sites I've visited or came across recently is the fact that for every word that you correctly guess it's meaning, the site donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations. I know it doesn't sound much, but when you do it daily, then it becomes a lot. Plus, yesterday they were able to donate 366,180,600 grains already. Other totals for their donations are available on their site, as well as FAQs, how they are able to donate, and other information.

So I hope you'll join in and do our share of helping those in need.

Credit Card Payments for Online Businesses

If you have a website and is engaged in selling, one of the things you might consider is a card processor merchant. To be more specific, you will need a system that will allow you and your buyers to process payments right on your website for faster, convenient transactions and quicker revenue for you.

There are several merchant processor that allow you to accept Visa/Mastercard today. Wouldn't it be nice if you could add a link to your website that says "Accept Credit Cards Click Here?" It would not only add to your reputation as a seller, but would also give you the impression that you care about your customers and you want their buying experience from you as convenient for them as possible.

Aside from getting good software like shopping cart software for example, getting a system that will allow you to process and accept credit card payments right off your site is another thing you need to keep in mind when running an online business.

Getting a Car

As I mentioned in a previous post of mine, one of the goals that my husband and I have is to make sure that 2008 does not end with us still living in an apartment. In addition to that, we are also adding in our goal setting is to purchase a car as well.

What we were thinking about was getting an auto loan. As we do not have cash to pay for a car in full, we would have to make something sort of a partial payment or a down payment first, and then make some monthly payments for the rest of the remaining balance.

Auto loans seem like the option we will be going for now, anyway we won't be buying the car for another 6 months or so. But right now, we are already preparing ourselves for some of the requirements that might be required for us to present when applying for car loans, like our proof of income, tax returns, valid IDs, and other documents we may need to present.

For now, what we are busy with is to get as much information as possible regarding this type of loan as we want to make an educated choice on which to get. Simply put, we want to make the best choice possible.

A Debt-Free Life

There are just some times wherein you cannot avoid being in debt. Like for example, if there is an emergency and you do not have cash on hand and there is no one available to give or lend you money. Another time when we might find ourselves needing a debt would be for a payday loan, especially if you just need cash in between paydays. The only problem is, once you find yourself getting debts all too frequently, things start to become getting harder and you just might find yourself getting more debts just to pay old debts.

If you find yourself in this situation wherein debts just keep piling up, it just might be the time to seek advice. A free debt consultation is something you might want to consider during times like these, so that you can avoid getting deeper and deeper into the debt hole. There are companies that provide free debt consultations, and they may also be able to provide you with services such as debt consolidation.

Some people might say that everything is just a matter of proper budgeting and stuff, but there really are times when you just cannot help but get a debt for a particular need. Through debt consultations, you will be able to get back to leading a debt-free life, and hopefully, learn enough so that you don't need to get another debt for your lifetime.

Internet Marketing Services

DiscountClick is a site that I recently came across that offers online marketing sevices for all different types of online businesses. Services that the company offer range from SEO consulting, search engine promotion, SEO marketing, and search engine optimization.

Other services that DiscountClick offers include link build tools and how to build link popularity. For online business that want to succeed, getting the assistance of a good internet marketing consultant would be the best way to go. As your site increases popularity, ranking, traffic, and readership, your potential profits from your website are sure to follow.

Further information on pricing for DiscountClick services can be found on their website or if you have a question not addressed on the site, you can send them your inquiry directly through their contact form.

Are you one of those people who is constantly busy with projects, social outings, etc or do you just like to lay low and stay home? Why/why not?

I'm actually the type of person who doesn't like going out - I'd much rather stay home, sleep, or be with my kids. It's not because I'm a mom of two or anything, but it's just that I only have few hours to spend with them on a daily basis and whenever I have time, I'd rather spend it with them.

Like when I didn't bother to attend my company's Christmas party - I just spent the day at home and slept. The hours I was awake were spent with my kids and a couple of hours more for blogging.

I don't know why exactly I'm like this, but I do recall that even before, when I was still single, I still would prefer staying at home than going out, getting drunk somewhere.

Getting Serviced Apartments

I've written several posts about travel, and I'd just like to stress how important lodging is. As I mentioned previously, lodging is just as important as where you're going, and if you're a traveler who's traveling with kids like myself, good lodging becomes a factor in deciding where to go altogether.

One thing you might want to consider are getting serviced apartments. Aside from being cheaper compared to hotels, serviced apartments are usually more roomy and have more space to move in, especially ideal for kids. They're also more convenient for those who are staying for an extended period of time and is almost like your home away from home. Usually, families traveling to Melbourne either go for the regular hotels or try service hotels whenever they look for Melbourne accommodation.

If you're traveling with kids and going to Perth, some Perth accommodation that include serviced apartments feature child policies that normally do not require a certain number of children to be in one apartment. They're mostly lenient especially when it comes to traveling with kids. Same as with Adeline accommodation and Brisbane accommodation - serviced apartments are usually a better option especially if you're staying for an extended period of time, or if traveling with your family.

More on Capella University

I wrote previously about Capella University and I just wanted to share this information about a student from this online university.

Teresa Chaulk was recently named as Superintendent of Lincoln County School District Number One in Wyoming. She is also a PhD student from Capella University and to quote her:

“It really is a wonderful opportunity to have a reputable online degree program for people like me who are working full time and who would not be able to pursue a PhD otherwise,” Chaulk said.

As online degrees have become very popular, more and more people are realizing its advantages. For those who work full time like Chaulk does, managing your time between studying and working (and if you have a family) can be a real challenge. But with determination and a little help, we can achieve our dreams, just like what Teresa Chaulk did.

If you could take a motor home anywhere in the world at the moment, where would you go?

I love traveling and if I had a motorhome to take with me, it would be even better. I could take my two kids with me to where I'm going easily, and we'll all have a blast.

Now, where to go...hmmm...

I'm thinking of going to a beach or something, as my eldest daughter who recently turned four has not gone swimming yet. Swimming would also be a good activity to engage my five month old daughter in, and I've watched a lot of TV shows discussing that it's best to teach babies to swim so by the time they get older, they won't be afraid of water and will easily learn how to swim.

So I'm thinking of a beach in California, as the state is known for fabulous beaches. But which beach to go to would be my next dilemma. If I were to go to Venice Beach, I'm sure my kids would love the street performers, artists, and musicians that abound the place. Or Santa Monica beach to stroll around and view the sun rise and set amidst lifeguards on duty. Or better yet, we could just go to Marine Beach, so that I'll have peace of mind when I let my kids swim around in the gentle waves and shallow swimming areas. As this would be a great place to bring kids plus the picnic locations, maybe this would be where I'd take my motorhome then.

What is the biggest misconception about you?

That I'm a snob, which I'm totally not.

I don't know why people often get that image of me. I don't know if it's because I don't smile a lot or I don't talk that much either. In any case, I get this a lot and people I don't know or those whom it's the first time to meet them often are hesitant to approach me and get acquainted.

Which makes me think - is it OK to just come up to somebody and blab all you want? I guess the answer would be NO, right? So why do people expect you to be all cheerful and upbeat towards someone whom you've never seen before in your entire life up to now?

Audio Visual Equipment

One of the accounts or campaigns that I previously had when I was still working in a contact center was for technical support for a company dealing with audio visual equipment and installations. As I consider myself a fairly technical person, I found the training for this account a breeze.

For me, audio visual equipment is something of great importance, especially for learning. There are some people like me who tend to learn faster with the help of graphics and other visuals rather than just the regular reading of words. Although there are some who learn just by reading and reading dozens of pages or repeatedly looking at a computer screen filled with words, I think a picture or a visual image every now and then would be great to break monotony.

During training, I remember one time that I was really excited about these audio visuals. Our client came to our office bringing with them their latest audio visual product and allowed us to test it. They thought that we'd be able to assist more customers if we actually knew the product and we could operate it ourselves. The system used state-of-the-art technology that allowed voice conferencing in between states, and it wasn't just your regular web cam image - the person you were having a conference with looked live. There were no delays and if there were, they were kept to an indistinguishable minimum and the audio during the conference was spectacular.

With technology like that, imagine the number of hours you can save in a day traveling from work to another place just to be in a meeting. With the video conference we held, we were able to communicate with our clients who were still in the head office and have an open discussion with them - without leaving our seats.

What do you hate sharing with people?

My hairbrush.

I'm not OC or anything but I just get annoyed when someone borrows my hairbrush. For example, when I'm in the washroom and I'm using it and then someone (with the exception of my family) be it my friend or a co-worker asks to borrow it, I'm faced with the dilemma of letting them use it or not. If I say no, it might seem that I'm being rude, but if I let them use it, I'd have to spend several minutes to get all of their hair out of the brush, wash it through running water and soap, and then let it dry before I actually use it again on myself.

Does it sound OC to you? Maybe I am, huh?

Where do you not mind waiting?

At a bookstore.

This is the only place I wouldn't mind if the person I was meeting was 10 or 15 or even 20 minutes late. Whenever I have the chance to drop by any bookstore, I always get lost with the number of books I want to read, the magazines I want to browse through, and any updates on my favorite authors.

I always tell myself that I'll only spend, say an hour browsing through books but when I check my watch it's been way, way beyond that, and I even feel I'm not halfway done yet!

If you could bring someone famous back from the grave, who would you choose?

Nostradamus!!!

I want to know how he was able to make his predictions, like was it through a dream, or was it a vision like a projector-type vision or what? Did he see these visions through a mirror, a water bowl, or did they just happen whenever he closed his eyes? Did he often see visions during the morning or night?

I'd also like to know how he felt when he saw them. Was he scared, excited, or freaked out? And I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask the results of the next lottery draw, right?

Lodging is Just as Important as the Destination

I personally think that during any travel, where to stay is as equally important as the destination itself. You might be going to a really beautiful, white sand secluded resort and staying in a room that can only fit two people sitting down. Well, I don't think that's going to happen, but I just wanted to stress it out.

Hotel Reservations play an important role just as much as choosing an airline, a travel agent, or any other factor we take into consideration whenever we travel. Think of it this way - after all the traveling and touring that you did during the day, wouldn't you want to come home to a hotel that lets you relax and unwind?

My 5 Scariest Movies of All Time

1. Nightmare on Elm Street

2. Poltergeist

3. The Exorcist (the one with Linda Blair)

4. The Omen (the original version)

5. Halloween

Funny when I remember how scared I was when I watched these movies when I was a kid and now that I'm older I'm looking for a movie that will really scare me. When I was younger and when I saw these movies, I honestly had a really hard time sleeping.

How do you perceive the lifestyles and personalities of people who choose not to have children?

I've always believed in the saying "To each his own," and I'm not the type of person who likes to meddle with other people's business. Having two kids of my own, I can't imagine my life without them. But I don't think negatively of people who choose not to or cannot have children of their own.

If there is one thing that my mom said when I was younger that I still remember up to now, it would be to not mind other people's business, and that whatever people say, only the opinion of those whom you love should be the ones that matter.

So if couples without kids can choose to party until the wee hours of the morning while some stay at home taking care of their kids, that's cool, that's the life they choose to lead. Instead of being busy thinking about how other people are doing this and that, we should be focusing our energies into making our lives the best it can be, with or without children to share it with.

Getting an Insurance Policy

Pre-need is something most people take lightly, as the thought of preparing for unfortunate events seem morbid for some. But for others, it's just a way to make sure that the people you leave behind will not be burdened any further with your loss.

There are different insurance types available for people with different needs. Most people with families often choose Life Family Plan Premium or Family Insurance; some choose Term Life, and some still settle for nothing at all.

I guess what most people have in common is the desire to save money on insurance, reduce premiums, and of course know the insurance plans pros and cons.

If there is one thing we should equip ourselves with in preparation for any unforeseen events, for me the best would be knowledge.

Memorable Gift

I'm really not the type of person that likes material stuff; I go more for meaningful things that I'll treasure for a lifetime. So I came across this meme and I just wanted to share the memorable gift I received.

Although I already consider my kids as the most memorable gift I could possibly have, there is this one thing that Henry gave me that whenever I recall, it never fails to put a smile to my face. He's not the type of person that writes letters and stuff, nor does he let his romantic side show very often. But he gave me this letter written on a yellow pad paper with his scrawly handwriting and I still have it up to now.

The letter was part of a present he gave on my birthday, along with three red roses. He expressed how he felt, and that meant the world to me. He was so honest and sincere that while I was reading the letter, I was fighting off tears and smiling at the same time. I think he knows I still have it, and I will keep it forever.

If there were no blogs, what would you be doing right now?

Hmmm...

I'd probably be sleeping, for one thing. Or I'd be playing my favorite MMORPGs like RAN Online. If I hadn't become so into blogging, I'd probably be busy upgrading weapons and armors for our characters in RAN, increasing our character's levels, or just cuddling with my kids.

I could also be just surfing the net, or watching TV or a movie perhaps, or eating chips or something.

All of these is making me think when I'll finish blogging so I can drink a cup of coffee, which is also something else I could be doing right now if only my fingers weren't so busy typing.

Engagement Rings by James Allen

Getting engaged is a monumental event in any woman's life, and if accompanied with a beautiful engagement ring, the moment becomes priceless.

It has been said many, many times that diamonds are a girl's best friend, so just how exactly do you choose the right diamond for the woman you're about to marry? At professional jeweler James Allen, the choice is made much easier.

From the variety of diamond engagement rings available, you and your loved one can both make the choice on the design, the size of the diamond, and if you don't find exactly what you're looking for, you also have the option to design the ring yourself.

Or, if you already have something in mind and just need a diamond for it, James Allen also sells loose diamonds with actual diamond photographs. Once you select a diamond to view, there's a magnifier that comes with it so you can see the clarity of the stone and compare it with other stones before making your purchase.

Wedding rings are also available and you can choose your rings to match each other either by choosing a design on the website, or designing it yourself. At James Allen, their items come with free shipping and 30-day returns.

What three main rules, standards, or morals do you live by?

I live by these:

1. Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true, and the easiest way to get through your day.

2. The truth will set you free. Keeping secrets or hiding under pretenses can be awfully hard. Just be true, be yourself, and always say what's real.

3. Love what you're doing. If you love whatever activity you're currently engaged in, be it your work, exercise, or a new sport that you're learning, it wouldn't feel as though you're completing a task.

One of the Best Emails I've Received

My email is basically my to-do list; I don't forget and neglect things if they're in my inbox. So imagine my surprise when I opened my email about two days ago and saw a name that literally left my mouth hanging open.

Gerry Alanguilan, the author of Wasted, which is like the comic book I've been dying to get my hands on for almost ten yeas now, just left a comment in my post Gerry Alanguilan's Wasted! Weeee!!! For a fan like me, this is a monumental event. I never thought that through my blogging efforts I could actually get his attention. And what's more is that he even gave me a link for the online version of Wasted!

I didn't know Wasted was already uploaded on the Internet, and I have to be the happiest person to know about it. I'm also enjoying his Crest Hut Butt Shop, which I'm finding really fun to read. Thanks again, Gerry!

Hotel, Motel and Resort Reservations

Hi readers!

As much as I'd like to share good news, I have to say that my husband and I still have not decided on where exactly to spend our annual vacation at. I guess it's primarily due to my fickle-mindedness and my constant suggesting of different locations whenever we're almost near on closing a particular one.

The only thing we've agreed upon is that we're going to try as best as we can to get the best deal on hotel reservations as we possibly can. Not that we're being stingy or anything, but we just want to get the best out of our money's worth, which isn't so bad when you put it that way. Like, if you can get hotel discounts, why would you settle paying the full price instead?

One of the things we did agree upon aside from the numerous locations in different continents that I mainly suggested was we have a wide array of lodging options. Were taking our kids with us this time, and we want to be as comfortable as possible. So we've taken into consideration not only hotels, but motels and resorts as well. We're also looking into transportation like cars and flights once we get to our destination as we want our kids to be as comfortable as possible.

And since we honestly cannot decide and finalize on anything we've planned, we are also considering the option of going for a vacation package instead. At least, in that way, everything is sort of pre-planned to a point that we wouldn't have to worry about every single detail of our trip.

One of the things I find fun about planning this vacation we're going to have is that through the numerous reservation sites, I find myself with ample time to browse through hotels we like and their prices as well. We can book them online without having to call and call them, and probably just call them once - about a week before we actually leave to confirm our slot.

So there, up to now, we're still undecided. But at least we're having fun while deciding. :-)

Music Age Gauge

I know we did the movie age gauge earlier, and now I want you guys to try the music age gauge. Movie Age Gauge

Hi again!

Here's another cool site I discovered that's a really nice icebreaker. It's called Movie Age Gauge, and it gives you information on how old you are compared to actors and actresses, and how old you were when some movies were released.

Once you enter the site (you can do so by clicking here) you'll be prompted to enter your birthday following a month-day-year format. After which, a list will come up giving you details on your age against movies and actors and actresses.

When I entered mine (8/13/1983), the site gave me results that I was about:

64 years 6 months younger than Zsa Zsa Gabor, age 88
53 years 2 months younger than Clint Eastwood, age 77
50 years 6 months younger than Kim Novak, age 74
47 years 6 months younger than Burt Reynolds, age 71
43 years 6 months younger than Nick Nolte, age 67
42 years 4 months younger than Ann-Margret, age 66
36 years 5 months younger than Billy Crystal, age 60
33 years 9 months younger than Whoopi Goldberg, age 58
31 years 1 month younger than Robin Williams, age 55
27 years 1 month younger than Tom Hanks, age 51
24 years 9 months younger than Jamie Lee Curtis, age 49
22 years 4 months younger than Eddie Murphy, age 46
13 years 1 month younger than Jennifer Lopez, age 37
4 years 6 months younger than Jennifer Love Hewitt, age 28
4 years 8 months older than Haley Joel Osment, age 19

and I was this age when these movies were released in the US:

The Terminator: 1
Top Gun: 2
Planes, Trains & Automobiles: 4
Steel Magnolias: 6
Home Alone: 7
Wayne's World: 8
Jurassic Park: 9
Forrest Gump: 10

Saving Private Ryan: 14
Toy Story 2: 16

Pretty cool, huh?

How Many of Me

Hi all!

Just to break the monotony, I found this really cool site called How Many of Me that allows you to check ow many people share your first name and last name in the entire United States. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but it's a fun thing to do in case you're tired sitting in front of the PC (like me!) for an extended period of time. It's pretty cool, so I hope you try it out!

My results show that I have 0 matches with my first and last name, however, I share my first name with 356,269 other people and I share my last name with 395 other people.

First a House, Now a Car

I mentioned in a previous post things my husband and I have discussed about where we intend to take our lives to, especially with the kids growing up and all. We want our kids to grow up in a house they can call theirs; and now we're thinking of getting a car as well.

A car for us would serve a lot of purposes. It would keep our kids comfortable whenever we need to go anywhere with them. It would also save us from the crowded buses and other means of transportation. It would give us the privilege of taking them with us when we'd normally just leave them at home due to issues like traffic, pollution, and the crowds.

But of course, getting a car is tied up with getting a fair car insurance. I wouldn't want to be either driving or riding something that I will not feel secure in, like if worse comes to worst and something bad happens. I want to feel secure knowing that whether something happens to the car, we'll be fine.

Auto insurance is something most people take for granted and don't know the value until something happens. Like I had this friend who didn't want comprehensive auto insurance since she already spent so much on her brand new car and just settled for a really cheap deal her insurance agent offered her. About a month or so after she bought her SUV it was car napped, and as it turns out theft wasn't included in her coverage. She was able to recover the car through the help of the police, but most of the important pieces like the motor, the interiors and stuff were all gone. When she computed if she was to buy all the missing parts, it would cost her almost as much as when she first bought the SUV.

So that was a lesson learned not only for herself, but also for me. If ever we do get around buying a car, I can always browse for car insurance quotes that won't keep me in the dark when unforeseen events happen.

On Buying a House

One of the things my husband and I discussed was that the next year, 2008, will not end with us still living in an apartment. Just thinking of the rent we have been paying our landlady sends shivers up my spine. I don't even want to compute how much we've paid her over the last 3 years we've been staying at our current apartment.

So we're interested about mortgages and how to go about one so we can finally buy a house of own. Just saying that phrase, "a house of our own," is enough to put a smile on my face. Since this will be our first time to apply for such, we're honestly a bit clueless as to how to proceed.

We're been hearing so much about mortgages this and that and we're not sure what exactly would be the one right for us and the one which would suit us best. And I always thought buying a home would be exciting, little did I know it can be so stressful. Like, "where do we get a loan and how do we go about it?" are just some of the questions that we're still looking for an answer. Not to mention how to pay them back, interest rates, lenders vs brokers, etc.

As there are still a lot of things my husband and I should know about before buying a house, we'll be engaging ourselves in reading about mortgage refinance and other terms that we should familiarize ourselves with. My husband suggested reading a mortgage blog if we came across one, which would at least provide us some insight on what exactly we're actually getting ourselves into.

5 Things I Want my Kids to Know before they Grow Up

Whew, another meme that just gets my fingers typing!

Well, to be honest, there are a lot, but the 5 most important would have to be:

  • You are loved. And don't even think otherwise!!! Whenever you feel down or lonely or depressed, or anything other than fine, just remember the people around you and how much we care, love, and worry about your well-being. You have parents who'll be more than happy to share stories over a cup of coffee or dinner, or even a shoulder to cry on whenever things aren't going your way. And we'll even offer the extra hand to help to get you back where you were. Always remember that it's not about how many times you fall, but how many times you get back up.
  • You are worth it. Please do not settle for second best, whether it be love, work, or friendship. Always remember that you were raised to be the best you can be, and you should strive and uphold your value. Don't say yes to things when it's not favorable for you, and don't do things that will decrease your pride and value. Hold your head up, be strong, and know when to say no.
  • You are beautifully wonderful. And you always bring a smile to my face. Just looking at you is enough to make my day. Did you know that I cried when I first saw you after I gave birth to you? I knew I was looking at the most wonderful child any parent could possibly dream of having. I could only wish to be the parent you deserve. You have your own qualities that make you stand out from the rest. Don't settle for being just "one of the crowd," be YOU.
  • You are strong. You were blessed with your own minds, so use it. Stand up for what you believe is right even when no one's backing you up. Be firm regarding your decisions and choices, even if they're not always the right ones. Mistakes are part of life and learning, just make sure not to make the same ones again. Uphold your values, stand up for what you believe in, and have pride in yourself.
  • You have lucky parents. Believe me, it's true. From the time you opened your eyes to the first time you smiled, when you took that first step and spoke that first word were all milestones for us. Just keep growing and learning, and don't forget where you came from. Everything you do makes us proud. We may not be around to say it often, but we couldn't have wished for other children than you guys. Don't forget to pray, and listen to your guts. Your conscience is your second best guide when we're not around.

Shopping Cart Software for Small Businesses

I've been a firm believer that small businesses have the potential of growing big in the market, given the right exposure and software on its website. Usually, people think that a small business also means a small budget, which may be true in half of the cases, but not always.

If your business is about selling products, you can reach a far greater audience if you advertise on the Internet and direct them to your website. And of course, once the potential buyers are there, visiting your website, it's critical to keep them there and also keep them coming back for more. One of the things that can help you achieve this is if you have your own shopping cart software.

Ashop Commerce is a leading provider of shopping cart software bundled with the following services:
  • hosting
  • 128 bit SSL protection
  • unlimited emails
  • full technical support
  • graphic web design
  • SEO services
  • site health checks
  • custom programing
So imagine this, with a service like that, you could be relaxing at home while making money off of your online store. And the good thing about it is that you don't need to be a technically-inclined person knowledgeable about HTMLs or other codes.

Someone Else's Wishes

You have been granted 3 wishes! However, you have to use your wishes on 3 separate people. Who would you choose, what would you wish for them, and why?
(Usual genie rules apply: no falling in love, no bringing back people from the dead, and no extra wishes)

This is a meme I just could not pass not writing about. If this were to happen to me, the people I'd wish for and what I'd wish for them would be the following:

1. My husband - better health, happiness, lots of love, a long life, and that all his hopes will be fulfilled. There may be some wishes or dreams of his that are still unfulfilled and I want them to materialize. I'd also want him to be happy and feel accomplished as an individual.

2. My kids - that they grow up to be God-fearing, responsible, and loving children and siblings towards each other. I may not be here long enough to see them grow, as no one can predict what the future holds. So I'd like them to lead the life they deserve and dream of.

3. My family - by my family I mean my mom, my dad and my eldest sister Elena. I wish them whatever they could possibly wish for. They're really great people and I love them a lot. To have their wishes fulfilled would be the fulfillment of mine as well.

Aplus Reports Writing Services

Writing a paper needed for school can be tough, but it's even tougher when it's about something you don't like and the deadline is fast approaching. You can spend hours and hours, or even days, writing an academic paper that just doesn't seem quite right. So why not try to purchase term papers or take advantage of custom writing services?

Currently, there are companies offering report writing services that make life a whole lot easier. You have time to spend with your family, more time to study, and even have time to relax and take a break from the ever-busy school life. Report writing services are a growing trend nowadays; you have the liberty of talking to your writer as you give instructions on how you want your paper written, when it's due, and what's even better is that if you don't like it, you don't have to pay for it.

No, it's not cheating, and it's far beyond that. Think of it as someone organizing your thoughts and ideas for you in a coherent manner. It's still your ideas and thoughts and opinions going into the paper, so technically speaking, it's still yours. You just have a lot more time in your hands.

Would you rather be Overdressed or Underdressed for a Party?

I'm not a kill joy, but whenever I attend parties, I just want to blend in and get the party over and done with. Regarding the clothes I wear, I've never been the one to follow trends; I wear what I wear and that's it. As long as I feel comfortable in it and I know it's appropriate for the occasion I'm going to, that's fine by me.

So, I'd rather be under-dressed for a party rather than be overdressed. As much as possible, I wouldn't want to be the center of attraction and throw the hosts of the party off with my outlandish outfit. I would much rather prefer just blending in, having a great time, and not make people around me feel uncomfortable.

As what I said previously, if people don't like what I wear, they always have the luxury of turning their heads and looking somewhere else.

Online Slots Available at Sloterix

From the many online casino, backgammon, and betting sites I've recently come across, Sloterix would have to be the site I'd play at. Why? Because I've always been fascinated about slot machines and having online slots sure sounds like the game for me.

Sloterix is one of the oldest running slots sites currently on the Internet which allows people to play slots online as you would a regular slot machine. Not that I'm being stingy or anything, but if I was to invest and play and get warped in all the hype of online casinos, I'd definitely go with the one that has been around for quite some time already.

Although casino slots are really for lucky people, it's the game I find really appealing. One of the reasons why I do so is because of the luck factor. Second, you don't need to use your brain that much compared to card strategy games wherein you have to bluff your opponent into folding, and lastly, it just seems a lot of fun.

Do you believe that we as humans were meant to have just one person we are paired with for life? Why/why not?

A big YES! would be my answer to that question. Why? Simply because I found that someone I am most certain I'll be spending the rest of my life with. I remember when I was younger and I'd ask my mom about love, she'd always reply to me with the verse from the Bible, 1 Corinthians 13. To be honest, I didn't get it at first, but now I do.

I guess the hopeless romantic in me got what it was looking for with my husband and we've been together for almost a decade, and still loving every minute of it. We go out, enjoy the company of each other, and have fun with our kids. At night before we sleep, we often talk about a lot of things like how our day went, what did we do, things we still want to do, and our dreams for Keisha and Nicole.

Our relationship is not perfect, and we're happy about it. If it were, we'd have no more room for improvement and everything would be monotonously boring. We're glad that we have our ups and downs every now and then, because these only strengthen our bond and makes us realize who we are and what we want to make out of our relationship.

I in all honesty cannot imagine spending my life with someone else. And if anything were to happen, which I certainly hope not, I am certain that I'll just live the rest of my days with my kids. And I quote from Gerry Alanguilan's Wasted, "Love cannot be passed on from one person to another..."

A Modern Way of Dating

Dating for me has always been a topic I find myself at a loss of words for. I guess it's because I didn't date a lot of guys before I eventually settled down to have a family of my own, and I don't regret it either, since I found exactly what I was looking for without that much of a hassle.

I'd like to think my husband has his own way, and he knows just how to approach women and somehow I feel some men are born like that. But what about those who aren't? Are they doomed to be single and alone forever? Well, I certainly hope not.

There are a lot of ways people can meet other people belonging to the same or opposite sex, aside from the traditional ways like hanging out in bars, discos or what have yous. One of these ways is through dating sites that are available online. With the trend in modern technology, I guess it was inevitable that dating was going to be left behind and not catch up with modern trends. For people who spend most of their time in front of their PCs, they can now do a lot of other things aside from work - they can get a date through their PC via the Internet, too.

Well, sounds interesting right? You can click here to learn more about what I'm telling you, or if you're the visual type of person, you can check out the video on this page to save you time from reading.

As I said, nowadays there are a lot of options on how you can get hooked up with other people. And what's great about these social sites, or dating sites rather, is that you can not only find people, but also people who are actually looking for other people as well, just like you are! So
you can save the time and effort of flirting with someone only to find out their engaged, committed to a relationship, or worse, not interested at all.

I've always personally believed in destiny, aside from being a hopeless romantic. Sure, fate has a way of holding your future into its hands and stuff, which is what most seasoned people often say, aside from not rushing things. I believe that things that are meant to happen or those meant to be yours will come across your way, but there's also nothing wrong with taking matters into you own hands and getting the action started from your end, don't you agree?

A Nifty Online Backgammon Website

Mister Gammon is one of the websites I recently came across in my quest for knowledge about the hype on online casinos and such. This site adds a twist to the regular backgammon game most of us are familiar with - you can play it online.

Unlike most of the websites offering online betting I visited previously, this site allows you to play either for money, or simply just for fun. Players have access to online backgammon whether they want to spend real money on it, or just want to try it out first and get used to it before gambling any real amounts. There are also daily backgammon online tournaments that players can participate in and interact with players all over the world.

The site is also very easy to use and strategically color-coded in such a way that your eyes are drawn to the important stuff on the site. Games are available for download, as well as a guide to get started, and a dedicated 24/7 support team to make your online backgammon experience as smooth as possible.

Travel to France

Ever since I had this dream about waking up in Paris, I decided to research more about France. It's a great country screaming with history, art and culture, and I just want to be part of it. Even before when I still had this travel blogging job, I always wrote about France and Paris mainly out of jealousy, since I've never been there.

A France blog is one of the things I've been reading up on, since as a blogger, I know that people are usually more honest when it comes to their blogs. I'd like a personal perspective of how travelers found France and it's up and downs, as most travel websites usually sugarcoat things to entice people to book hotels with them.

But one thing's for sure - if my husband and I decide to spend our annual trip to France instead of the other locations we initially had in mind, one of the things we'll definitely do is to get lost. It's the only true way to discover France secrets that no travel website or brochure has written about.

What's your Favorite Kid Movie? Why?

My eldest daughter Keisha and I love watching Lilo and Stitch together. It's one of our bonding movies aside from Finding Nemo. I always have a blast whenever I watch this with her - we end up eating popcorn, drinking Coke, and just cuddling while the movie's on.

Keisha's always wanted a pet, which is I guess one of the reasons why she likes this movie. Although she previously had a pet rabbit before, she wants a dog this time around.

I also like watching this movie since it also gave a me a lesson to learn. Kids may often be regarded as kids, but they also have their own minds and feelings that should not be disregarded under the premise that they are just kids.

For Keisha, I hope she got the message that other kids should be treated in the way she'd like herself to be treated. With school a couple of months away, I hope she does well not only academically, but also socially.

But I have to admit, ever since I've been working on the night shift I haven't been able to spend that much time with her. :-(

Ease your Way into Online Gambling

If you're new to the world of online casinos, a site I recently stumbled upon a site called Gamblux, which is a site that is a must to visit. Gamblux isn't just your regular casino website. It provides information to online casino newbies and seasoned players as well.

Useful information like their casino guide is a must-read if you're thinking of taking online gambling seriously. The site also offers relevant and up-to-date casino news that every player should keep themselves updated with.

As Gamblux is an independent online gambling portal and casino guide, you can rest assured that they're providing unbiased reviews and information about the best online casinos in the world.

What's your least favorite household chore to do?

It would definitely be cleaning out our closet. I'm not that good when it comes to folding clothes and stuff. I also have to admit - I can't keep the closet my husband and I share organized for anything longer than two weeks.

It often starts out like this. I can't decide on what to wear, so I try out a lot of things. And since I'm usually in a rush to leave for work, I just toss the clothes I tried on back into the closet, with the honest intent of fixing them when I have the time (which rarely happens). So there, after a whole day of folding, sorting, and my head aching with all the clothes we have, it takes a mere two weeks for everything to be back the way it was.

Get Your Business Repaired

Believe it or not, but one of the reasons why some businesses fail is because they fail to recognize the flaws that every business develops over the years. No matter how a company's
organizational design may seem perfectly structured, eventually there will come a time wherein you will need to make changes to the company.

Performance management is one thing, but it isn't all there is to making a business grow and become successful in the long run. Change management, or the process of making sure that your business is able to cope up and meet the demands of the market is another thing every businessman should keep in mind.

Since most businessmen are primarily focused on profits, they tend to forget or neglect other stuff that matter. Some companies are actually experts when it comes to repairing these flaws that every company every so often acquires over the years.

As they say, change is the only thing constant in this world.
